good news update June 29
Yep, it is good news when you have the "Summer Sweet" corn to eat with any meal or try roasting some on a grill or fire. I am very fond of this variety of sweet corn. The company that bred and developed the Summer Sweet series went a different direction than most corn breeders have in the past decades. They put more emphasis on plant health and seed vigor rather than genetically modifying for insect and herbicide resistance. The results are a strong fast growing plant that lets all the energy, flavor and sweetness get to the kernels themselves. They did a fantastic job of getting the basics right. It shows in the corn you eat!
Our tomatoes are slowly working their way in along with the cantaloupes and melons. eggplant and peppers are not far behind.
Blueberry picking ( PYO) will open Thursday and Saturday mornings.
FYI everything we plant is non GMO and when buy produce we try to get non GMO if possible.
