Strawberry Update: 4/7/20

Posted 4/7/2020 2:06pm by Sam Bellamy.

It's official... We finally have strawberries!!!

While the entire field is not yet ripe, we are picking every week now, and will have some berries at every market location. Due to this being the beginning of the strawberry season, our supply is still limited and the we may sell out quickly.

We are selling the berries in quarts at $4.25/each and $5.25/each for Organic. At this time we are not selling flats but as the supply increases we expect to.

In keeping with the local recommendations to help prevent the spread of COVID 19 we are delaying the Pick-Your-Own. We hope the strawberry production will continue until the beginning of June so it's possible we'll still be able to open the field for PYO later in the season! We'll keep y'all updated as we know more.

Picked berries are available this Wednesday and every other Wednesday at the 8th Ave. Market. This is expected to continue until the Myrtle Beach Farmer's Market opens.

         From 2:00 - 5:00 at 714 8th Ave N, Myrtle Beach

Also on Thursday at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach each week, where we are set up OUTSIDE.

From 1:00 - 5:00 at 920 Crabtree Ln, Myrtle Beach

And last but not least, at our Farm Market on the Farm every Saturday!

From 9:00 - 4:00 at 1542 Hickman Rd, NW, Calabash, NC

As the strawberry field produces more ripe berries we expect to have the Farm Market open more often. We will update when that changes.

The Myrtle Beach Farmer's Market usually opens around the middle of April. At this time we are waiting on more information regarding when the market will re-open.
