there are many inviting aspects in rural life

Welcome to Indigo Farms Market

We are approaching the exciting time of year when the taste of summer begins to literally come out of the ground! Strawberries and the fruits we love and need to boost our bodies and minds will soon be readily enjoyed. This year has it’s own unique weather but it appears that early may be in store for blueberries , blackberries , peaches, plums and figs. We will have to wait and see how it unfolds but while we wait there are lots of good things to enjoy! Spring vegetables, tasty baked goods and lots of beautiful flowers. Take advantage of the experience and advice from the garden center staff to help you create more beauty, brightness and a healthy environment in your own home.

We welcome you to come to the market and see all there is to enjoy while here.

                                                      azalea blossom

1) The soil temperature is warming and early vegetables can soon be direct seeded or transplants set out.

2) Fruit trees , bushes and plants are getting into position to prepare to bud or as in the case for strawberries to develop blossoms.

3) Gardening is not far off. Now is a great time to refurbish gear and see what your needs are for the season ahead. Planning is a tool in itself and now is a good time to talk to someone at the garden center about what you want to achieve.

4) The barnyard babies are  arriving, newborn kids and chicks.

new kid ,new life, always amazing

5) Tours will soon be starting for the Spring season.

Honey bees need attention as the spring approaches. Hive frames and boxes need to be ready. Bees need to be checked for food supplies and any mites that may be active in the hive. There is much to think of and do.

Work on the farm is increasingly getting busier. Repairs, equipment preparations, pruning trees, bushes and vines, spreading compost on the organic cover crops, sowing seeds and transplanting plants, the list goes on. But there is a genuine hope toward this year’s seasons. We want to be able to offer the best produce and plants at the best price. We really want to serve you in supplying you with the kind of goodness that can come from a healthy farm.

Remember the market has a Garden Center, Produce market, Bakery and there is a barnyard behind the market where the wonders of farm life can give you a glimpse of awe and inspiration.
